Day 01
Arrival / Negombo
This is the point of departure of the trip. You will be in Negombo, a town near the sea. Relax and unplug from the chaos of everyday life after you get there; stroll through the beaches or take a stroll through the local markets to ease into your holiday.
Day 02
Negombo / Chilaw / Kandy (Munneswaram / Manavari Temple) / Short Kandy city tour
Get ready for an eye-opening journey to the spiritual realm! The journey starts in Chilaw which is where you can see the Vishnu temples Munnneswaram and Manavari purported to be the creations of Hanuman when he was looking for Rama and the followers of Ravana. From here then we will proceed to the holy Kandy which is the cultural center of Sri Lanka and head for a short city tour during which we will get familiar with the beauty and impressive architectural heritage of this city.
Day 03
Kandy / Nuwara Eliya (Sri Baktha Hanuman Kovil / Seetha Amman Kovil)
By and by Nuwara Eliya with its compelling features shall lie ahead of us. Here, we explore the magnificent artwork of the Ramayana at the Baktha Hanuman Kovil and Seetha Amman Kovil, a pair of temples that consecrate Hanuman and Sita.
Day 04
Nuwara Eliya / Bandarawela (Divurumpola / Gayathri Peedam)
Bandarawela, the town which is hidden in the hills, is your destination for our next meet. Divurumpola, the enigmatic site where Ravana is said to have taken Sita captive, emerges from the mist to reveal the mysteries of the Ramayana. After that, visit the Gayathri Peedam, a famous Hindu temple to choose your blessings.
Day 05
Bandarawela / Ella / Kataragama (Ravana Falls / Ravana Caves)
Journey up to Ella, a beautiful paradise of nature. One of the highlights is the holy city of Kataragama, if you get there, you can see the Ravana Falls and Caves, which are believed to be the places used by the legendary king.
Day 06
Kataragama (visit temple) / Ussangoda / Rumasela in Galle / Seenigama Temple Hikkaduwa / Sri Anjaneyar Temple Colombo
Start the day with the sacred Kataragama Temple. This place, full of Hindus and Buddhists alike, is very sacred for all religions. Then, he entered Ussangoda Island, complicated with myths that sustained Sita and Hanuman’s reunion. This day winds up with a visit to the Hikkaduwa and Sri Anjaneya Temples in Colombo respectively, seeking blessings and immersion in Sri Lankan culture.
Day 07
Colombo / Departure
As you reach the end of your pilgrimage in Colombo, one thing you can do is leave, with all the wonderful memories of your fantastic spiritual voyage on the Ramayana Trails, imprinted on your mind.
